SOME NOTES FOR ADJUNCT ASTRONOMY TECHNICIANS
PLEASE FOLLOW THE EQUIPMENT AND NOTES TO TEACHERS AND TECHNICIANS GUIDE FOUND IN THE BACK OF THE LAB MANUAL WITH THE LATEST VERSION ON THIS WEBSITE FOR THE COURSE YOU ARE INVOLVED WITH.
In General, prepare the equipment for the experiment to be done, assist the students in using the equipment, ensure that safety measures are being followed, put back the equipment and make sure the lab is clean after the class has ended.
NOTE: some exercises require demonstration equipment to be set up..
If you have any ideas about demonstrations for an exercise please let Prof Robbins Know.
also in general feel free to contact him about any work issue.
NOTE: IN GENERAL TECHNICIANS ARE PART OF THE INSTRUCTIONAL STAFF AND YOU ARE EXPECTED TO KNOW THE LABS VERY WELL AND TO ASSIST THE TEACHER IF DESIRED IN ANSWERING BASIC QUESTION FOR THE STUDENTS ( IF YOU DON'T KNOW AN ANSWER THEN PLEASE REFER THEM TO THE TEACHER).
HENCE: UNLESS THE INSTRUCTOR TELLS YOU OTHERWISE WE EXPECT YOU NOT TO HANG OUT IN THE PREP ROOM BUT BE AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT IN THE LABORATORY EXERCISE.
