A Few Important Things to Consider
You’ll need to finish three clusters of courses:
- General Education Credits: Speak to advisors at the Hub
- Psychology Major Credits: depends on BA (38 credits) or BS (42 credits)
- Electives: remaining credits to make up 120 total
Check DegreeWorks and ESIMS to complete an audit of your progress. But be careful, because there are known bugs in these audits. Just use your common sense. If the audit says you need a lab, but you’ve taken a lab, then you don’t need that lab.
There are a few logical sequences to the major.
PSY 100, ENG 151
(2) Research Sequence:
MTH 113 (for the BA) or MTH 123 (for the BS)
then PSY 201, PSY 266, then the lab course (i.e., if you don't have Math, you're at least 2 semesters from graduating)
(3) History Sequence:
PSY 201 plus 8 200-level credits or higher, then PSY 352
(4) Lab Sequence:
Cognition and Perception (PSY 330): PSY 266, PSY 288 or PSY 232
Learning and Behavior (PSY333): PSY 266
Social and Personality (PSY 334): PSY266, PSY 226 or PSY 212
Child Development (PSY 335): PSY 266, PSY 242
