About Us
The College of Staten Island (CSI) is a senior college of The City University of New York (CUNY). It is located on a 204-acre park-like campus in central Staten Island; an upstate college experience in New York City.
CSI offers a broad range of academic programs in the liberal arts and sciences, and the professions that lead to associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Select doctoral programs are also available on campus in collaboration with The CUNY Graduate Center. From undergraduate research to working on doctoral theses, students at the College of Staten Island are provided with the tools and opportunities they need to make positive contributions to society. CSI students perform research with faculty from every academic discipline on campus, using the College's state of the art equipment and facilities.
The Department of Psychology at The College of Staten Island (in Building 4S) offers a wide range of courses covering the variety of topics and techniques relevant to an understanding of this exciting discipline. Accordingly, the faculty hold degrees in several fields of psychology and pursue corresponding interests in research and practice.
The major in psychology awards a B.A. degree, which prepares students for advanced graduate training or careers in the field. Valuable experience can be gained through participation in laboratory research or in internships at outside agencies. The Department also offers an opportunity for honors in psychology and a minor in psychology.
