In nearly every education course, students will observe actual classes and perhaps work with individual or small groups of public school students. In addition, the following programs require students to complete “clinical fieldwork” in which you will conduct classes under the mentorship of a cooperating teacher and a college supervisor:
There are several requirements that must be met before students can begin a student teaching or special education practicum experience. Those requirements are available at:

Please note: The student teaching/special education practicum experience is an intense one. Candidates must synthesize all the information learned during their program and use it in new and interesting ways in real classrooms which they, in part, become responsible for. This experience is a major step in the transition from teacher candidate to teacher.
