The CSI Summer Technology Conference for Middle School Teachers is a five-day experience held on the campus of College of Staten Island. The goal of the conference is to educate middle school teachers about the use of technology in teaching mathematics and science. Based on the Exeter Mathematics, Science and Technology Conference model of educating high school teachers, this conference is one of the only places in this country helping to elevate teaching during the critical middle school years.

Join us August 3 - August 7, 2008 and you will have an experience of a very special professional development with long lasting effects on you and your students. The 2008 conference will explore the middle schools mathematics and science curriculum of today and tomorrow with special focus on technology’s impact and application in the classroom.

Special Features of The Conference:

• Participants take three workshops each day that meet for two hours.

• Participants attend special programs in the afternoons.

• Computers and calculators will be available in courses requiring them.

• Free Internet access will be available in the classrooms, computer labs, and dorm.

• There are planned periods of rest and relaxation: coffee and juice breaks, daily social hours, and special evening programs.

To reserve your space, application must be submitted by April 30th, 2008. Applications will be accepted after the deadline if space is available. The registration fee of $700 will cover course materials, course instruction, all special programs, and meals. The housing will be provided at Staten Island Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton in double rooms for the cost of $400 per person or single rooms for the cost of $800 per person. In the event of cancellation by the participant, the registration fee less $75 will be refunded if a replacement is found.  All foreign checks must be in U.S. dollars.
