Welcome to my webpage. I like to think of myself as a WRITER-SCHOLAR-ECONOMIST, probably in that order. Since this an academic webpage, though, let's describe each one of those in reverse order.

First the ECONOMIST part: I teach in a Business Department at the moment, but I've still spent more of my career outside of academia, doing a lot of economist-sorts of things, e.g. managing studies of infrastructure and economic development for the US federal government; running benefit-cost analysis systems for local government; doing tax and revenue analysis for the US Congress; studying federalism in the nonprofit sector. Just before this current job, I served as a project manager for the National Academy of Sciences/Board on Infrastructure and the Constructed Environment (doing work for the Federal Facilities Council). Did I mention my Ph.D. in economics from the CUNY Graduate Center?

As for the SCHOLAR part, well, I teach in a university now and I also did a previous teaching stint in a Masters and Doctoral program in Public Administration at the University of Southern California. I also, of course, write and publish and study in many diverse areas. You can get an overview by looking at my vita (that's resume to civilians) or by looking at my research links below.

Finally, the writer in me. Ah, yes, my true passion. I've completed one novel, am writing several others and have written a score of short stories and hundreds of poems. Have I published any of those? Not yet, but take a look at some samples here. Did I forget to mention that I paint and play piano as well?
