My research investigates the cognitive development of young children in the context of locomotion. I study how infants acquire the problem-solving skills they need to navigate the world, particularly when there is an obstacle in their way.
I am teaching Infancy in Fall, 2013 and sponsoring several Independent Study students who conduct infant research in my lab for course credit.
During the 2010-2011 academic year, I spent my sabbatical as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Haifa, Israel.
Congratulations to Mia Curovic, SI Tech H.S. student & Child Development Lab member, for her 1st place win at the 2013 NYCSEF competition with her presentation The Effect of Sleep on Cognition & Motor Development in Infants!
