and by the rolling of the vessel the bile turns uppermost and then the stomach ejects it. I think it would be 5 wrong to stop it from coming. I'll soon get better [and] when I will be so I'll be better than if I had emptied the medicine chest in to my stomach. I got a dozen 10 of Seidlitz powders44 from Donald Campbell but have not taken any. The Captain along with Messrs. Sharpley [and] Cunningham have fin- shed them. 15 Sunday 24th This is the first Sab- bath I ever spent at sea, [and] it is a pretty stormy one. I read a great many chapters of the Proverbs and other parts 20 of the Bible and a good many of the Psalms in metre. I also read about two sermons. I spent the time very comfortably [End of Page 18]
