Reference Service
The Reference Services desk offers assistance, when needed, to students, faculty, and community members wishing to
use or explore any or all of the library's many resources. Regardless of how specific or general the nature of the
project, reference librarians are available to provide guidance in every aspect of the research project. Help is
available in using print and electronic resources; finding elusive facts and statistical data; formulating research
strategies, etc.
Librarians can be contacted either in person; by telephone; via email; or on the Web through the link, "Ask A
Librarian." Questions submitted through this service are guaranteed to receive a reply within two working days.
The main reference desk, where a reference librarian is always on duty is located on the library first floor.
The reference resources found here comprise dictionaries, encyclopedias, atlases, handbooks, bibliographies, etc.,
for all disciplines.
The reference collection on the second floor houses current issues of selected magazines and journals.
It also houses indices and abstracts of articles in periodicals (magazines, journals, and newspapers) that may
not have been referenced in the online databases.
Reference materials do not circulate.
