Beatrix Reinhardt received her M.F.A. in photography from Illinois State University, her M.A. in Media Studies from the New School for Social Research and her B.A. in New German Literature (minors: linguistics and psychology) from the Freie Universität Berlin. She has taught widely in Europe, North America, Australia and Asia.
Since fall 2005 she has been the program coordinator of photography at the College of Staten Island/CUNY.
Reinhardt's work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, most recently in Madrid Spain; Birmingham, England; Syracuse, NY; Atlanta, GA and Finland, among other places. She is represented by the Photographers' Gallery in London and the Romo Gallery in Atlanta. Reinhardt's work is represented in many public collections including the NYC Public Library, Light Work, UCR/California Museum of Photography in California, Old Parliament House in Canberra/Australia and Rural Documentary Collection in Illinois. In 2007 she was the recipient of the Flash Forward 2007 award from Magenta Foundation.
