Mikhael Antone received her BA from Salve Regina University in 1997, and her MFA from School of Visual Arts in 2002.
While at Salve Regina, Mikhael Studied under Dr. James Hersh exploring the Philosophies of Religions and Jungian Archetypes. She exhibited her first Video Transformations as projected Installation. Mikhael then travelled to Rome to study at the American university concentrating in Ancient Roman art history. It was there she visited the Basilica Santa Maria sopra Minerva (Basilica of St. Mary over Minerva).
In 1998 Mikhael began teaching art at Catherine McAuley High school in the predomintly caribbean neighborhood of Flatbush brooklyn.
She lived and painted at an old orphanage, the Angel Guardian Home.
At the School of Visual Arts mikhael received the Aaron Siskind Award for academic excellence and studied with Grahame Weinbren, Shelley Silver, Judith Barry, Ed Bowes Collier Schorr and Clarissa Sligh.
In 2002 Mikhael worked with Hanna Iverson, at Centro de la Imagen in Mexico City at a video Installation workshop. Also visiting the Templo Mayor next to the Catedral Metropolitana.
The Vigil a ritual transformation of dealing with the fear and apprehension of death made its way into the world during 2000-2002 centering around Sept.11th in NYC and the loss of her mother to cancer.
The Vigil was shown at BAM Rose cinemas, Void, Praxis Collective, and Anthology Film Archives.
Mikhael is a founding member of Praxis Artist Collective in Brooklyn and has freelances as a production Coordinator/ Manager. She has produced such projects as Robot Stories, Frames, Carlito's Way: Rise To Power, Quid Pro Quo, the reality TV series', The Restaurant and Drowned Alive: David Blaine live show for ABC.
