Peter Prisco (Jazz Guitar) has performed and taught in the greater New York metropolitan area for the last forty years. A student of masters Dick Evans and Chuck Wayne, Mr. Prisco also studied for twelve years with the great Lennie Tristano disciple Sal Mosca. Mr. Prisco has had long standing duos with bass legends Vinnie Burke and Bill Crow, and has performed with jazz greats Warne Marsh, Carmen Leggio, Don Joseph, Caeser DeMauro, Sal Nestico and Eddie Bert. Prisco has been featured many times at famous New Jersey jazz clubs Gulliver's and Trumpets. With the Scola Tristano Trio (Prisco, Fr. Stan Fortuna, and Peter Scattaretico), he has made frequent appearances at New York's Birdland. For the last ten years he has been a member of the Carmen Leggio Band. His discography includes It's About Time (Zinnia Records), Yesterday's Future (with Peter Scatteretico), and, with the Scola Tristano Trio, Scola Tristano and Live in New York. Two of the Scola Tristano's performances are also available on DVD. Peter Prisco earned a Bachelor's degree from Iona, and did graduate work at Wagner College and Richmond College. He currently serves on the jazz guitar faculty of the College of Staten Island, CUNY.
