Michael Morreale (Trumpet, Jazz Ensembles, Jazz History, Jazz Harmony and Arranging) earned an MM in Composition Brooklyn College and his BA from City College of New York. Career highlights include two world tours and six albums with Joe Jackson. He has recorded and played with the New Mexico-based group Straight Up, who included two of his compositions on their 2002 CD release. He appeared on Jerry Vivino's latest CD release (2006), and has played at Birdland with the Lew Anderson Big Band. Mr. Morreale's Destinies for Brass Quintet was recently performed by Prometheus Brass. Michael Morreale joined the College of Staten Island faculty in 1995, and since 1998 has served as director of the CSI Jazz Ensembles. In addition to leading and writing for his own big band and quartet, he is a longtime leader of the Staten Island Chamber Music Players Jazz Quartet, which performs at Staten Island concert venues and schools. In Spring 2003 Michael Morreale received the CSI Dolphin Award for Outstanding Teaching by an Adjunct Professor.
