Marion Feldman

Biography / Academic Interests:

Marion Feldman (Cello) is recognized as one of today's leading cello performers and pedagogues. As recitalist, she has performed in New York City's Weill Recital Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Merkin Concert Hall. A favorite with Far East audiences, she has toured extensively and given government-sponsored master classes at universities, conservatories, and festivals throughout Taiwan, Korea, and China. During the last three summers she has taught and performed at the Dae-Jin University Festival in Seoul, Korea, and has given master classes and recitals at the Shanghai Conservatory and Beijing's Central Conservatory. As chamber musician, she has performed and participated in national tours with many noted American ensembles, including the New York Lyric Arts Trio, the New Manhattan Trio, the Lorenzo Trio, and the Aureus Ensemble. She is presently a member of the chamber group Metamorphosis, a piano quartet comprised of NYU faculty members. Ms. Feldman received her training at the Juilliard School and the Accademia Chigiana (Italy). She serves on the artist faculties of New York University, the Manhattan School of Music, and CUNY's Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music and Graduate Center. Marion Feldman joined the faculty of the College of Staten Island in 2006.
