To be admitted into the M.S. in Biology program, applicants will need to satisfy the following:
· A Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field from an accredited college or university
· An overall undergraduate GPA of 2.70 (B-) and an undergraduate science and math GPA of 3.00 (B).  The science and math GPA includes courses in chemistry, mathematics and physics.
· Students lacking the minimum GPA or appropriate undergraduate coursework may still apply and may be conditionally accepted into the program.
· The conditions may include (1) maintaining a 3.00 GPA during the first year and/or (2) completion of appropriate undergraduate courses.
· Two letters of recommendation testifying to the applicant's ability to complete successfully the program of graduate study.
· The applicant should have taken the General Examination of the Graduate Record Examination (www.gre.org) or should schedule to take the exam within their first semester in the program.
· For applicants for whom English is a second language, a grade of 550 or greater on the TOEFL test is required (www.ets.org/toefl)
· Applicants are also required to submit an application to the College of Staten Island Office of Graduate Admissions
