Resources found in the reference collection include dictionaries, encyclopedias, atlases, handbooks, bibliographies, indexes, and other reference books in all subject areas. Reference books are useful for looking up quick facts, definitions, statistics, biographies, and general topic overviews. To find reference books, go to CUNY+ and click on "Guided Search" for additional search options with which to limit your results. Type in a keyword and select "Reference" as your search location. This will limit your search results to books located in the library's reference collection. Reference books are located in the first floor reading room just beyond the Reference Desk. Reference books are non-circulating, which means they cannot be checked out.
The library also has an extensive e-reference collection with full-text reference books available online.
