Library Internships

The CSI Library invites internship applications from library school students interested in pursuing a career in academic libraries. The internship appointment is a one-semester term.

Qualified applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled in an ALA accredited library/ information science graduate program.
  • Have a minimum of 12 credits.
  • Commit to a one-semester contract appointment in the library
These internships are intended to provide experience to students interested in exploring a career in academic libraries. Students will have the opportunity to work closely with professional librarians. They will gain valuable practical experiences, as well as strong information management skills at the end of the internship.

 

The successful candidate will assume a variety of assignments appropriate for an internship appointment. Interns will assist staff with special projects in Cataloging, Access Services, Collection Development, Library Instruction Services, or in Archives & Special Collections.

Hours: 10- 15 per week.

To apply, fill out the Internship Interest Form and include evidence of enrollment in a graduate library program and a letter of reference. Completed applications must be received no later than October 25 to be considered for Spring appointment and April 4 for Fall appointment.
