About me |
|
I received my BS in Zoology from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro AR. Following a year of work I enrolled in the MS in Biology program at Memphis State University, working under the direction of the late Dr. Priscilla Rushton. After graduating I was recruited by Dr. Lewis Coons to work as an Electron Microscopy Technician at Memphis State. After 4 plus years as a technician, I enrolled in the doctoral program at Memphis State working under the supervision of Dr. Coons. I then moved “downtown” to the University of Tennessee, Memphis working in the laboratory of Dr. Malinda Fitzgerald, then with Malinda and Dr. Anton Reiner. Since 1997 I have been at the City University of New York College of Staten Island. I am a cell Biologist by training and trade. In addition to serving as Deputy Chair for the Department of Biology, I direct the Advanced Imaging Facility at the College of Staten Island. My research interests lie in the areas of cell communication, especially as related to the retinal pigment epithelium and pancreas.
