Goals of the Classroom Exercise:

1) To teach students the principles of textual criticism;

2) To demonstrate the differences between internal and external criticism, and why both are valuable;

3) To familiarize students with women's use of "Liberty Rhetoric" as a tool for rebellion, resistance, and reform in the nineteenth century.
