This Seminar Series introduces participants to the study of material culture and its potential application in the classroom. The Seminars will include hands-on interpretive workshops with each speaker who will explicate examples of ancient material culture from the SIIAS@CSI collection. Participants will be provided with course packets of teaching materials, which will include suggested reading materials and web sites.

All Seminars will take place in the Conference Room of the Library at the College of Staten Island where the artifacts are located. The format will be the same for each Seminar:

2:00-3:00 p.m. Lunch
3:00-4:00 p.m. Workshop
4:00-5:00 p.m. Lecture
