Library Access PoliciesThe College of Staten Island Librarys resources and services are available to students, staff and faculty who hold a current, validated identification card from The College of Staten Island (CSI); from any other college within the City University of New York (CUNY); and from Empire State University. This identification card is used to borrow Circulating books and Reserve materials. Circulating books may be taken out of the Library for an extended time period while Reserve materials are loaned for use only in the Library for a two-hour time period. The ID Card is also necessary for use of all audiovisual materials from the CSI Media Lab.Students in the CSI Continuing Education program, visiting scholars, CSI alumni, friends of the CSI Library and retired CSI faculty and staff members may use the Library and may borrow books and other materials when presenting a current, validated identification card. Alumni may obtain a CSI Alumni Card through the CSI Alumni Office, located in Building 1-A, Room 110/111 (telephone 718-982-2290). All other groups listed above should contact the Public Safety Office, located in Building 2-A, Room 108 (telephone 718-982-2111), to obtain a valid CSI identification card. Borrowing privileges do not apply for members of the general public. Members of the general public who wish to use the Librarys facilities may do so during normal hours of operation. A photo ID is required to enter the Library.
